| UTILISATION OF WASTE DERIVED FUELS | |
Cement Plant of Dalmia Cement
(Bharat) LimitedTrouble free operation of pyro-processing section and sustained
level of production with the assured product quality is of utmost importance while
conceiving the substitution of conventional fuels with the waste derived fuels (WDF). The
study involved assessment of the availability and quality of the waste derived fuels in
the plant vicinity and subsequently the fuel-mix which would reduce the fuel bill of the
plant.
It was considered prudent that during the initial stages only utilisation of
partial substitution of the conventional fuel may be made till such time adequate
experience is obtained for considering full substitution.
It was considered important to take due care before making the investment, regarding tie-up with the different sources of waste materials on long term basis in terms of the availability and price. |
Objective
Usage of waste derived fuels available in the vicinity of the plant has shown considerable reduction in the fuel bill of the plant. However, the success of such projects is largely dependant on level of enforcement of environmental regulations specifically in relation to disposal of waste. Scope of Consulting Services
