| 1.75 mio tons per annum Split Located Portland Slag Cement (PSC) Project TISCO is largest industrial conglomerate and pioneer for steel
production in India. Starting in 1911 the company branched off to multiple industrial
sectors. In 1990 they decided to diversify in cement production and use slag, which is a
waste by-product of steel manufacturing process. Holtec was engaged as prime-consultant.
The split located plants were commissioned in 1993.
The clinkerisation
plant (1.0 mio tpa) at Sonadih, Madhya Pradesh grinds 0.3 mio tpa of OPC and grinding
plant at Jojobera, Bihar produces 1.45 mio tpa of PSC.
In 1999, after
TISCOs strategic decision to disinvest in cement sector, Lafarge India acquired the
two plants.
